Workshops with ZKI, the Association of German computing centers
For several years there has been a close cooperation between the DFN-Verein and the scientific computing centers of the universities and research institutions. The heads of these computing centers are organized into the organization „Zentren für Kommunikation und Informationsverarbeitung in Lehre und Forschung e.V. (ZKI) the Association of German computing centers. The association is committed to promoting data processing in research and teaching at several publicly funded institutions of major research, and research institutions funded from other sources. The association supports its member computing centers with the completion of their tasks,
- organizing the exchange of experiences and opinions
- stimulating cooperation between computing centers
- providing advice and facilitating collaboration with institutions inside and outside of Germany, promotion of education and research.
In the accomplishment of the aforementioned purpose, the association organizes meetings, issues publications and forms working groups. The close collaboration between ZKI and DFN-Verein fosters an active exchange of information, ideas and requests which advantageously impacts the further development of data processing for universities and research institutions.
